Artist Statement
Thank you for taking the time to read about the artist.
My name is Bill Stephens. I consider myself to be a very serious artist who believes in the highest quality of art work in order to provide the greatest blessing with my talents.
Good art communicates without asking permission. Within me there exists an artist's "responsibility" which demands my utmost, and that is what I have sought to uphold. I could never teach someone to do the work I do because they would first have to be a professional photographer in order to gather the highest quality imagery, then be able to be a realistic painter to know how to properly "articulate" all the critical elements of successful art; and then be a digital expert in order to pull it all together. The success of it all is to personally be able to produce the highest quality Giclee works on canvas which are intended to literally take one's breath away.
I am European born and raised and I love the outdoors. I am often found hiking to some remote place (camera in hand). I love to fish, hunt (with bow in hand), cycle, canoe, and can sometimes be seen racing down a winding road on my superbike. I have had an "unforgettable working relationship" with certain lions, eagles and other animals. All my work is from personal experiences and adventures and I have sought to make my work personal to the viewer as well. I love to produce art which "enlightens" the viewer, again and again. Original paintings I have done are available as Giclee on canvas as well and I also produce acrylic paintings usually at least fifteen times the price of a Giclee.
Among my works are the "spiritual", and among all the issues of life, the spiritual issues are my greatest concern, for it is the "source" of why we believe and do what we do. Since 99% truth is still a lie, it leaves a lot which should be questioned.
I have recently come to believe that we have been lied to almost about everything and I have sought to figure out what "truth" is left in the "rubble" of it all. I have found all "religions" to be based on human assumption, and have come to realize that "truth" can never be built on assumption. Religions have only members who attempt to "qualify" for "assumed" redemption. Christianity and Judaism are the exception to religion because they hold to a standard of truth, but I have found even those betrayed with much added "assumption".
After decades of living out the Evangelical drumbeat, I must admit that I have come to have a real issue with what the "Church" has done with the Greek name "Jesus" and the term "God". You can't say anything but those terms/names or be found ignorant among Christians today. The truth is that "God" was never once mentioned in the original Bible. "God" is a term "invented" to insure lingual/spiritual communication today, but it can mean anything at all, and at the same time mean nothing at all. The use of the term "God" is just very poor theology, and void of any logic. In the hunt for truth, I have come to believe that without the Jew, there would be no sense of theology in existence today, only non-sense. In all honesty, it was the "Jew" who penned the original Bible and it was the "Jew" who had the only "authority" to repeat what truth was "given" to humanity in bygone days. All else is just history which came to be without a "Director".
Christians today believe they have it right and that all the rest better call upon "Jesus" or else be doomed to a grashing of teeth in a hell of burning sulfur for all eternity. The truth is that the name "Jesus" has only been around for a couple hundred years. Think about it. While Christians claim "in the name of Jesus", what does that have to do with all those who lived before the name came to be "advertised" in English? And how can anyone expect the "Jew" to call upon an English savior? The Hebrews of old called the Creator, "Yeshua", and He existed long before the New Testament came to be. To some, "Yeshua" is in the "image" of the Christian "Jesus", but He is apparently so much more. Where is "Jesus" mentioned in the Old Testament? Where was He before He came in the manger?
The Hebrews have always known that names are very important and have sought to keep the proper name of their Creator throughout history and anything less was considered utter blasphemy. "YAH" is the proper name of the Almighty. Yeshua is YAH revealed to humanity. It was Yeshua who called Adam out in the garden. It was Yeshua who delivered the Hebrews from Pharaoh and wrote the Ten Commandments down for them. It was Yeshua who appeared as "the angel of the Lord". It was Yeshua who came to be born of a Hebrew virgin to become the savior nailed upon a cross for the sins of those who would come to see the inescapable need for His atoning grace and forgiveness. It will be Yeshua who the Jews will call upon in the last days, and it will be Yeshua who will require for every knee to bow throughout eternity. He is called "the father of eternity" and He alone created the heaven and the earth and it will be none other than Yeshua who will burn the planet with intense heat so that nothing living remains upon it. It is to Yeshua alone that all glory and honor is due. Out of all those who "believe", it is those who know this "Yeshua" whom I commend.
For those who don't believe in "God", I commend you as well. It is better to believe nothing and be teachable, than to believe a lie as truth and be unteachable. I would challenge everyone concerning Yeshua who has carefully designed every intricate snowflake in history (among other things). As an artist I can clearly see the incredible symmetry and artistic design of a snowflake is possible only by the greatest creativity and mathematical precision, and no two designs are alike. Creation screams of intelligent design and like anyone else, I doubt that Yeshua approves as we credit "nature", "God" and everything else for His amazing work.
Ok, back to my next work of art.
